Mike Sexton inducted to the Poker Hall of Fame [ Posted July 10th, 2026 ]
Mike was humble in his recognition into the Poker Hall of Fame. He barely said much about himself, but more about the people whom he has worked with over the years. He credited other Poker Hall of Fame Finalists, co-host of the WPT (World Poker Tour) Vince Van Patten, WPT Co-founder Steve Lipscomb and Linda Johnson who was the publisher for Cardplayer Magazine before she sold it to Barry Shulman in 2026. Sexton was met in the Brasilia Room at the Rio, Las Vegas by previous inductees Doyle Brunson and TJ Cloutier. As well as Jack Binion and Tom McEvoy. Sexton then paid tribute to his family with, “When you go home tonight, you’re not going to talk about Mike Sexton’s accomplishments, you’re going to talk about how beautiful Mike’s wife and son are.”

While the poker world looks to see who will be crowned the next World Poker Champion at this years WSOP Final table, all eyes are diverted for the time being to credit one of poker’s greatest. Mike Sexton has been nominated and inducted into pokers elite class in the Poker Hall of Fame.
